Mountain Medical Arts uses the best evidence-based, allopathic, osteopathic and integrative medical approaches to deliver comprehensive health care for patients of all ages from birth through life and into the dying process.
Our practice has an in-house lab and can coordinate state-of-the-art skin, urine, salivary and blood testing including allergy/immunology, autoimmune, neuroendocrine, nutritional and toxicity panels for accurate diagnoses and treatment of myraid diseases and assessing wellness.
We also carry and can recommend a variety of nutritional supplements that have been tested for quality and efficacy in the potencies used in clinical trials.
For established patients, we provide the following services:

- Home visits, telephone and Internet consultations

In addition to being a Family Practice, we have expanded our services in two directions:
Aesthetics & Wellness Center
We’re excited to offer a multitude of cutting-edge aesthetic treatments using Cynosure® laser equipment, including Icon® and TempSure™. Now patients can reduce signs of aging, decrease cellulite, and even enjoy laser hair treatments. The team at Mountain Medical Arts also offers a comprehensive array of dermatology services, including skin exams, lesion removal, and biopsies.

Hospice Medical Directors
Dr Polgar has been a hospice medical director since 2001. He has a deep passion for end of life care and currently is the medical director of Compassionate Care WNC.
Dr Rothe has served hospiceblueridge.com since 2007 as Medical Director, and since 2015 as Associate Medical Director also doing integrative palliative care consultations, and face-to-face visits.
County Medical Examiners from 2010–2020
Yancey County Jail
We work collaboratively with Sheriff Gary Banks to provide acute care for inmates, and for any of them interested we provide resources for the comprehensive health-care coordinating rehabilitation, mental health and educational services available to them for continued support upon release as part of their parole plan.

Dr Rothe has hosted the authors lounge at cmlitfest.org since its inception. She volunteered for ten years with DSS, local law enforcment and a savvy board to get a local child advocacy started which is now thriving under a strong parent organization southmountain.org
We both volunteer to teach elective sections at our public and private schools, community centers and churches. We have hosted farm interns through WWOOF wwoofusa.org, advocate our farmers market yanceycountyfarmersmarket.com community garden diginyancey.org, amyregionallibrary.org and coordinated a local health fair with our mayor and city council that we hope to resurrect. We have maintained membership in yanceychamber.com since we opened our business.
